Dr. Kelly L. Goodwin-Glick has 34 years of experience in education, including the following positions: high school biology, chemistry, and physics teacher, school counselor, middle and high school assistant principal, and special education, Section 504 and Trauma-Informed Care coordinator.Dr. Glick retired from public education in June 2023 in order to follow her heart, and focus her passion and energy on professional speaking, professional development, project management, and consulting with schools, organizations, and businesses. Through professional experience and education, Glick has expertise in Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), Emotional Intelligence, adult development, leadership, counseling, data analysis, and school discipline.Glick successfully defended a dissertation titled Impact of a Trauma Informed Care Professional Development on School Employee Perceptions of Knowledge, Dispositions, and Behaviors toward Traumatized Students in February 2017 to earn an Ed.D. from BGSU’s interdisciplinary Leadership Studies program.

Dr. Kelly L. Goodwin-Glick's Professional Goals, Mission and Vision:Glick's mission is to educate and empower others to nurture resiliency in themselves, students, families, and employees so that all members of society can lead productive lives. In addition, her mission is to embed TIC into school culture and transform the school discipline system so that students can learn and teachers can teach, and to support organizational stakeholders in the development of trauma-informed and emotionally intelligent dispositions. Glick's vision is a world in which every school, organization, and business stakeholder feels safe, cared for, and has the tools to reach their fullest potential.Dr. Glick's Professional History:Dr.Glick is a people-oriented, results focused, transformational leader with 34 years of experience in rural, suburban, and urban public school districts. During the last 17 years of her career, Glick served in various administrative and leadership roles. She successfully completed the requirements to earn professional licensure through the Ohio Department of Education in the following areas: Superintendent; Administrative Specialist License in Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development; Principal grades 5-12; School Counselor K-12; and Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and General Science grades 7-12. In addition, Dr. Glick was the Chairperson of the district-wide Trauma-Informed Care and Discipline Committees, Co-chair of a strategic planning subcommittee, and well as a member of the District Leadership Team, Building Leadership Team, Curriculum Council Committee, and Workforce Development Task Force. Within her role as a leader, she has coached, encouraged, empowered, supervised, and evaluated numerous teachers, counselors, school psychologists, speech pathologists, secretaries, and paraprofessionals.Since 1996, Glick has presented at more than 30 regional, state (OASSA, OSBA, AOCC, OCTEO, OSCA, and Ohio Head Start), and national conferences on topics which include emotional intelligence, diversity, careers, Challenge Day, and TIC. Additionally, Glick delivered a presentation on diversity for the Marathon Petroleum Corporation in 2008 that was broadcast throughout their organization world-wide. In 2018 and 2020, Dr. Glick developed and taught a course titled Counseling Strategies for Administrators for Capital University. Additionally, she coordinated 41 Challenge Day programs, in two school districts, over 11 years, inspiring 4100 high school students and 820 adults to cultivate caring relationships, inclusivity, and resiliency. Glick presented at the NASSP in California on coordinating Challenge Day in schools.Glick successfully defended a dissertation titled Impact of a Trauma Informed Care Professional Development on School Employee Perceptions of Knowledge, Dispositions, and Behaviors toward Traumatized Students in February 2017 to earn an Ed.D. from BGSU’s interdisciplinary Leadership Studies program. Her dissertation and the TIC-DS survey she developed for her research has been downloaded more than 16,600 times and cited in more than 30 publications as of May 2023.As Co-Directors of the Findlay City Schools (FCS) Trauma Informed Care (TIC) initiative, Dr. Glick and Dr. Mack co-developed and presented an experiential workshop for approximately 400 classified staff in 2015 and 2016. Furthermore, as of April 2023, Glick and Mack co-developed and presented differentated and experiential TIC professional developments for 8,000+ certified and classified educators, law enforcement, mental health professionals, and foster parents, in more than 30 Ohio school districts, 10 Educational Service Centers and organizations (including State Support Team Region 6; CASA of Allen and Putnam Counties Crime Victims Services; Ross Pike ESD, Athens Meigs, and Allen Co ESCs; Hancock County ADAMHS Board; NWO ESC Preschool; and Ohio MHAS) and universities (The Ohio State University, Heidelberg, and the University of Findlay). Glick also participated on the Ohio Department of Education TIC Think Tank and ODE Impact of Trauma on Literacy Panel.To check off another goal on their bucket list, Glick and Mack presented a TedX at Bowling Green State University in April 2018. Their presentation was titled Trauma-Informed and Caring Dispositions Matter. Glick and Mack also presented a national webinar for ASCA (2017), and a session at the ASCA National Conference in New Orleans (2016) on Trauma-Informed Care (TIC).Unlike other trainers, Glick and Mack had the rare opportunity to simultaneously take graduate courses in leadership studies, conduct research on trauma-informed care (TIC), and implement TIC as professionals in a public school setting. Simply stated, they practiced what they taught! Additionally, their diverse employment history enables them to translate TIC practice into the private sector.In addition to education, Glick’s employment history includes qualitative and quantitative tests on plastics in Quality Assurance and Color Laboratories, instructing clients on the use of office equipment for a business company, AutoCad Computer Design for an environmental company, and research in a histology laboratory at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, Ohio.Kelly was raised in Parkersburg, West Virginia. She currently resides in Bowling Green Ohio with her husband Todd. She is the proud parent of two adult children. Glick loves to travel, read, and spend time with relatives and her marina family. In her spare time she and her husband captain a trawler. Living aboard NeverLand while completing the Great Loop is on her unique bucket list!
